How to Quiet gurggling overflow

Is the level changing in the box, and is the gurgling noise more like a flushing nosie from a toilet?

how long has it been running?

how much flow are you putting through it?

Is this the hang on type of overflow or is it inside your tank. Basically, there are two causes for noisy overflows. Water splash and air intake regulation.
Have you tried a Durso/Stockman mod? This site has great pictures and a DIY section. http://www.dursostandpipes.com/

You can try raising the water level or regulating the air intake. I've also read that you can put filterfloss or that loose mesh stuff to try and reduce water noise but I wouldn't try it for fear of it getting clogged and overflowing my tank.

We have a 180 and Mauro made mods to the overflows that work very well.

piece of airline tubeing down into the tubeing leading to the sump or refugeium. adjust untill you hit the air pocket. my overflow was way loud, i did this and now it's nearly silent!

I put cheato in mine and rinse it every couple of weeks.

Hi
Level in box is consistent, other half says it does sound like flushing noise from toilet, no clue on flow rate, I do know its a CPR model CS202 overflow, its been running 2+ months

have pics to post but don't know how - the insert image icon asks for a URL??? I have them in a folder on my desktop, I'm buffaloed!!!!

Is the tubing going into the sump submerged? If so, is there any air vent on the line down there? (air will build up in that drain tube and will basically burp, which could be your gurgling)
