Is this some kind of coral?

This stuff came attached to some live rock I recently purchased. Looks cool, closes up at night, and opens during the day. What is it?

Yes....They are called "Mushrooms" there are many different colors, shapes, and sizes. Look them and up and read about them they are a good starter coral.

+1 on mushrooms.

The color doesn't look like they are their normal color. They may color up with good lighting. I have had some green hairy mushrooms turn that color after being out of the light when I moved my rocks around.
