MPevine needs help with his refugium

so as most kno i battled cyano out of my display tank. it was gone for maybe 2 weeks?*




well now its in my refugium.........



i suck it out daily, and it keeps comming back. went to new jersey for a few days and came home to this..........

when i left i had it looking pretty decent, it looked like this

i still do waterchanges. i actually enjoy doing them so i dont skip them......nothing has died in the system, fish/shrimp/hermits/snails all sem perfectly fine.........i have no idea whats going on.

Honestly, again, I know many are either For or Against it, but I still recommend Chemi*Clean Red Slime Remover. It's fish/invert/coral safe and works awesome and works right the first time and keeps it away. Yes I know, "it's a quick fix and doesn't actually solve the cause of cyano" but I have seen it get rid of cyano far worse than your outbreak within less than a week and whatever the "cause" was also seemed to have left with it. IMHO I feel as though sometimes the "cause" of cyano is the existance of cyano in your tank in the first place.

do it, i everyone says that its only like a band-aid to a scratch but you really have eliminated all the other factors so i say try it, i highly doubt it will come back with the way you maintain your system. So try and syphon you all the dead slime then dose, so you eliminate most of the red slime before you eliminate the rest(tried to explain this the best i could).

If you're going to do it, do a BIG water change with Carbon afterwards...but it IS a bandaid.....

I admit to having some cyano in one of my refugium tanks too.....

Suck out what you can and kill the light(how old is that pc lamp?) in the fuge for a few days!Not much depending on it anyhow atm.Your cheato will be fine.
