Reefbreeders photon v2

+1 on amazing light. I run these on 3 different tanks. I little of a pain to program but there is talk of a phone app that will make programing easier.

I have a RB Photon V2 32 on my Red Sea max and really like it. Programming it was super simple
I do have a question though, does anyone use the lightening feature???

I tried the lightning feature but didn't like it. I had AI's in the past and liked their lightning function but not crazy about Reefbreeders.

I know lightening happens in nature but makes me feel like I’m having a strobe light party in my tank

In general, I will suggest turn lightening off regardless which led you use. It does more harm than good for fish living in the tank.
In addition, if the lightening happens at night, it may causes your neighbors to call the fire department.

I use a 48”. I have had great results. LPS SPS and softies, shrooms, zoas, clam, all happy. Programming was fine. Just takes small amount of time.

They are powerful. Watch the recent BRS video on the lights.

best lights i ever bought and i used m/h, and t5s in the past.

I got 48" Photon V2 fixture from Dong. Liking it so far.

Two thing I would suggest -
1. Watch the BRS review of the fixture
2. Check the PAR using PAR meter. I was amazed to see my PAR numbers (and how wrong I was to assume they were good). My sunset monti (which I thought was doing good) was getting only 140 PAR. I increased the intensity and now it is doing better than before.

Also attaching a spreadsheet I created for my Photon V2 schedule based on BRS recommended ratios for channels. Might be useful to you as well if you get the fixture.

Thank you so much this is very helpful

Also reach out to Logan who owns Reef Breeders for any technical questions. Great guy and is located in Rhode Island. He's always at our frag shows too.
