Refugium above tank

Looking to put a refugium above my display. I love watching the refugium tho I know it's not appealing to everyone. Wondering if anyone has any good ideas on this. Looking to put it above the cabinet to the left.


Was thinking about pumping water from my sump into it, and having 2 drains [main and emergency] back into the tank

Also need some ideas for a shelf. Was thinking a 12 gallon long, but that might be to small tall height wise to make it work

You can definitely hang it on the wall with some lag bolts and 2x lumber as a triangle brace underneath, if you can find solid wood studs to screw into. I did this with at least a 20 gallon tank for a Carlson surge device (think, toilet flapper) years ago. Put up the shelf, hang on it to test and you’re good.
