1st photo looks like a Atreopora or alveopora (I think in the goniopora family?)

2nd photo looks like a rhodactis mushroom (Anemone family, cnidarian??)

I agree with Steve although not too certain on the goni ID could be either that or alveapora but definately bleached out and not doing good at all..

you can try turning it around by light and flow placement and also spot feeding phyto and such good luck thye a re very hard to turn once the bleaching and lack of extension happens but it has been done

Recovering?

I am posting a follow up of 3 months later of what I believe is a goniopora. It seems to be doing better every day. I bought an entire 90 gallon established set up and this was one of the corals in the tank.It was very bleached and receded but now it's starting to show color and is really starting to come out. Am I on the road to recovery or is it just wishful thinking?

Thoughts?

Thanks a bunch
Pete

Really looks like Alveapora to me. You definitely want someone to confirm. I'm not good at coral IDs.
But yeah, they certainly look better than in the previous pics.

I think you might be right. It does look more like alveopora after a few image searches.Whatever it is it seems to me to be recovering but I have NO experience with this and am learning as I go.

Looks like a retracted alveopora or goniopora. Count the number of tentacles per polyp....12 for alveopora, 24 for goniopora.

Heeeyyy i have that thing on the right. I guess i have a mushroom hanger on.

Looks like a recovering goni to me. There appears to be more than 12 tentacles on each polyp, although they just look like little points now.

How's this for a goniopora recovery!!!!!!!!
