Hi guys,
I just picked up a terrrarium / critter cage that is essentially a 40 breeder except that it has tabs to hold a sliding screen on top. I was cleaning it up and lo and behold on the bottom of the tank it says "CRITTER CAGE: DON'T FILL WITH WATER".

This is the exact dimensions as the regular 40 breeder, and the glass is 3/16" thick. I did alot of searching but not much info out there. Some people thought that the bottom may either be not thick enough or may be not tempered (i can't tell how thick the bottom is)

The other thing is that the top brace seems alot flimsier than a regular fish tank.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, none of the critter cages are built to hol water, the glass is too thin.

I've got a 3 sided critter cage in my back yard that backs up what Mike said about the thin (weak) glass

Definately not made to hold water...but, I have a 40 breeder for sale that is made to hold water....$40.00!
