Am I playing with fire here?

I want to add 2 T5 actinic bulbs as supplement to a radium 20k. The fixture. I have pretty much covers the dimensions of the tank so if I add 2 t5 bulbs, the T5 would pretty much be hanging outside the tank's dimensions.

What I thought was to possibly build a frame that would sit right underneath the fixture and I would hang the T5 from this frame.

My big question and concern is:

Would the heat from the MH be too much and enough to actually burn the wooden frame and have it catch fire? About 2 1/2 inches of the frame would be going "inside" the fixture.

This is roughly what I'm thinking:

I think it will be fine I have wood directly attached to the top of the reflector on mine , and seen many that way now if it was touching the bulb that would be different . Only thing I can see is losing some light from the halides

I think you would be alright you would need to get that wood up over 1000 degrees to reach secondary combustion ie flame.

The heat on the reflector will not be too hot for wood, you should be fine.
