I have an emperor 400 with 2 bio wheels and I am thinking of getting rid of this set up and going with a sump.. I am running a Bak Pak 2 HOB Protein Skimmer on the tank now. Any suggestions for a sump set up?

I started with a rubbermaid container. If you're just looking to add water volume it works pretty well. And, there are all sorts of creative ways to set it up with "chambers" so you can add sand.
Otherwise, your sump will be largely determined by what you can fit under your stand. On a 47bow, I'm guessing you're a little cramped for space? You probably want to go with a 20gal high, I suppose.
