Petco.com has the Sera Biotope Nano 60 (16 gallons) on sale for $165.00, stand for $75.
Sear is a German company with very little distribution in the US. Petco.com is one of the few sources for it. They are not sold in Petco's stores.
I set up mine in late October in my office. It is very quiet and has been very stable. It has a 4 chamber filter box built into the rear wall. I have one section filled with dry rock rubble and no other filtration except the dispaly areas live rock and live sand. It has been very constant in the water quality parameters over the past six weeks. I currently have some snails, hermit crabs, a black ray goby and hos pistol shrimp companion. I recently added a Hector goby who appears to be eating. The lights are two 18 watt T5 (white/actinic with fans built into the hood. Water temperature stays very constant with the lights on or off.
The point is it is an economical but good quality entry for nano reef keeping.
