What's your trick to keeping these guys going? They love to melt on me.
No idea. My tank is all acropora. Someone gave me a polyp of this in trade and it’s been taking off. Went from 1 polyp this past March to about 15 now

Same here I spent $250 on Facebook for two
One year ago. And multiplied to four after that they all melted on me. And I don’t dare to buy any more of them because that’s $250 going down the toilet. And that’s a lot of money spent

I don't keep many zooanthids so I won't pretend to know the secrets, but something similar happened with goniopora. They were known as difficult to impossible to keep going, then all of the hard to keep strains slowly phased out while the more hardy ones thrived. Perhaps I have a strain that is more adapted to our controlled aquarium environment?

On the other hand, it's hard to argue with the OPs success. Haha hence my, "teach me your secret ways" post!

Whatever @Brandon0921 is doing, he sure seems to be doing right! Beautiful corals! GLWS!
I could run an experiement that might be helpful in learning more about these. I have them in a frag tank that is tied into my main display which is a SPS dominant tank with all the bells and whistles for equipment. I monitor the water quality very closely in this system which is also high flow and relatively low nutrient. I have another 20g tank with only a CSB and two clownfish that I literally do nothing for other than changing out the filter floss whenever I think to do so. No water changes, carbon, GFO, dosing, nothing. Next time I frag up the mother colony, ill throw a couple polyps into that tank and let you guys know how they do.
