I would be reluctant to use anything that reduces ammonia, since this will just stall the natural balance of beneficial bacteria populations. - The beneficial bacteria populations will come into balance according to the amount of ammonia being produced by the livestock. If you add something to reduce the ammonia drastically, the bacteria populations will starve and die off as well.
