Currently cycling the tank with rock from MArco Rocks and Live sand. 2 questions, first off. Ammonia is at 0.25, Nitrite at 0.05 and Nitrate has gone up to the 10-20, 50-100 range, (with being between the low end and the high end. I have not done any water changes or anythig since June 5th when I put the live sand in and I have seen the ammonia and the Nitrite go up and waiting for them to go down completely. Since the have not yet disappreared and the Nitrate has increased. What do I do now? contiue to wait? I thought I was supposed to do a water change when the Nitrate goes up but not sure?
2nd question is that I have taken the heater out completely sinc ethe water temerature has creeped up to 82 degrees. I kow high but is that too high. The hot weather and all. I am wonderig how to cool it down?

question #1 keep waiting ammonia should be 0

question #2 82 degrees is fine since you have no live stock.

82 will not hurt a cycling tank.

until you get the dieoff in the rock and sand consumed by the bacteria that you need, nitrates will remain high.

Continue to be patient, it will reward you in the long run.

EDIT: theone should be called theFASTone :p
