Question about JBJ 12g Nano Deluxe

My boyfriend got the JBJ 12g Nano Deluxe and is setting it up and cycling at his dorm room and he doesn't know anything about tanks. So he told me today he set it up and the pump was on and then it shut off like 10 minutes later and he had to go home for the weekend so he doesn't even know if it is going to turn back on. Is it normal for it to turn off?

Also, does the tank come with a timer for the lights?

the pump shouldnt turn off. either it burned out or the outlet he plugged it into lost power, or maybe the power strip braker blew. either way its not supposed to turn off.

the lights dont come with a timer. i just went to the store and bougth a $10 timer to hook the lights up to.

well i guess the pump is dead, as far as the lights they aren't separated so if you use a timer you can't use the leds at all or have the actinics on a longer timer.

the bulbs should be both 50/50 bulbs so you cant use the actinics separatly either way. as for the moonlights nanotuners.com sells a moonlight fix for about $15 to put them on a separate circuit.
