rule of thumb for moonlights?

what is the rule of thumb for moonlights? want to upgrade lights and going to get moonlights already included with it

I don't think there is a rule of thumb for moonlights.
As far as I know (AFAIK), they don't perform any real function except letting you see in the tank at dark.
 
o I thought there was o well I guess not I have a 29 gal and want to know how many you would suggest?

I have to tell you I have been a fan of the "moonlight look" of my tank when I go downstairs in the middle of the night (often).

I just got these and I cannot rave enough of them especially how the light follow the lunar track. (Mid month is brightest and beginning and end of the month dimmer) (changes every day a bit just like the moon cycle)

I thought they were wroth every penny

excellent. this is what I'm talking about. was thinking of using a laptop program that controls day and night but for the money this aint bad. good find.

I wish you were closer to take a look at mine but I am very pleased. One cool feature is you can reset the "cycle" anytime
 
If you are good at wiring you possily could but these are a bit higher out put so it may be to your advantage to just go with these and drop down to 2 leds
