sump set up questions

This is the first time I'm setting up a salt water tank. I have an 80 gal tank w/ a 30 gal oceanic sump, reef ready. I have a reef octopus protein skimmer and also an eheim universal pump 950 gal/hr for return. What is the best configuration to set this up and what else do I need for a really nice reef sump.

And Karategirl. Hows your 30 gallon oceanic sump setup? does it have baffles? is it sump only or fuge also? you have a feed pump for the skimmer?

It's a VERY broad question. Do you have any more specific sub questions?

Is the tank "reef ready" (drilled and probably with an overflow built in), or do you mean it's a "reef ready" sump (IIRC just a sticker they slap on their sumps, any sump is reef ready really )?

For the actual sump set up, I'd suggest going through some of the old threads in the DIY forum. There are a bunch of sump threads that will probably generate lots of ideas and follow up questions.
