A quick review on the new Tunze Turbelle NanoStream pumps, the 6020 & 6040, that just come out. I bought the 6020 which is the 120v non-controllable pump. Very unique where the impeller sits vertical blowing the water straight up to a cone shaped deflector making a wide fan shaped flow. This pump puts out 660gph, is very compact, easily hidden behind rock work and only cost $43! The 6040 is the controllable model that will cost $140 with the controller! Clearly Tunze is going right after Jabeo with this one.

I am going to replace my 6095 wide flow with the 6040 controllable model when it’s available. It was supposed to be available 9/15 but who knows? I currently have the 6095 on the smallest 12v jumper to keep the water in my tank in wave mode with the 7092 controller. The 6095 is huge and too much pump for a 40 breeder on wave mode. The 6040 is half the size, compact and puts out 1190gph which is just about what my 6095 puts out with the 12v jumper on the power supply. For those who don’t know Tunze controllable DC pumps come with 12, 15, 18, 20, 22 & 24 volt jumper for the power supply so you can customize the pump to your liking.
