Finally enjoying my tank
I am having trouble with my top off, and have finally given up on it. The problem with mine is when is gets close to filling up, the small ripples in the water cause my pump to come on and off acouple of times, and I cant stand it. I have tried everything to stop it, and still no luck.

I had seen the Tsunami and was wondering if it had done the same thing, or if when it reaches the proper level, it stops, and stays stopped. I know the Tunze runs for acouple of seconds to prevent this, but I dont really go that route just yet. So if you have a Tsunami, I would love to hear what you think of it.

TIA Derek

If anyone has one they want to sell, shoot me a PM

i have the spectrapure which is basically the same as the tsunami.
It will not get triggered by waves,it does however need to see about a 3/4 level drop before it replenishes(something to consider on small systems or top off run through a kalk reactor)
It can be modified to be turn on with a smaller level drop very easily

+1 I have a Tsunami AT-1. You can easily add your own shorter pvc {.35} to make it more sensitive {Turn on sooner with less water loss}

Do they seem like they shut off, and stay off? I want to make sure when it reaches the correct level it stays off, and not be cycling on/off constantly. Thanks for the input

no cycling

I have had the Tsunami for 3 years and something is wrong. It was flooding and has now completely stopped working despite playing with the vacuum sensor, switching out pumps, not sure what the problem is. But prior to this it ran for 3 years, no cycling, performed like a champ. I have another kind (can't remember) that I have only had a year and it is doing the same thing. Sigh. Both broke at the same time. I am getting the RKE sensors to use on the main system but need something reliable for the Molly Breeding tank. Probably will just buy another Tsunami.

As mentioned above, the Tsuami's have a built in 'hysterisis' so that they don't make equipment turn on and off continuously.
