65 gallon log

Heres the 65G move, tanks been up 9 days since the move:

First thing was to make a bunch of water throughout the week, had about 12 home depot buckets ready at the new spot. After getting the u-haul, get buckets laid out and plenty of towels.

I start with sump, powerheads, skimmer, heater, doser all taken out and cleaned if needed.

next siphon out some clean water from the tank to fill livestock buckets / live rock bucket and rinse & scrub bucket.

as the sump drains via return pump I take out nem rocks & live rock, shaking in a bucket to clean em out. i scrubbed some rocks or tossed anything too algae covered.

Once the rock is out i scoop the fish with a few inches of water left. then scape the glass and siphon out the gunk

I then wiped down the tank and Bubble wrapped the tank. Loaded up the U-Haul, Hood then tank with stand at back all on the right side. Livestock went on lefts side of u-haul. Then headed to the new spot

Ohhhh tank moves the joys hope all livestock fairs well
thanks! Everything has survived and doing well and yup tank moves suck haha!

Have been selling off, trading in and moving corals to my smaller tank. Sold off my large green toadstool, a couple anemones and traded in my large devils hand coral. I make sure to keep some small frags of the corals i sell. Aiming to have moved to my shallow smaller cube tank by end of the month and have the 65G emptied out.

Tank few weeks after the move

Also tossed some rock that was old, to clear out some space. Will continue selling stuff and trading in coral to fit everything into the cube. Got the clowns and tailspot moved to the cube, still gotta move the cardinalfish and damselfish.

Definitely a bittersweet to be downsizing but too many issues after the move. Had the RO/DI hose fall out of the sink and drain down to the basement through the the floor, couple gallons!!! Leaked through to the laundry room along the foundation, lucked out big time that it just went directly below and outside via the basement window seam. Got the fans and dehumidifyier running and dried out quickly, that was a not fun, nothing too bad happened but never fun especially with a new porperty, going to look into seeing if the LFS sells RO/DI water. Have also had a sump overflow a small amount (less than gallon) so definitely ready to break down the 65G and take a step back from the hobby, cant find it in myself to give it up completely though haha. The cube is in the basement so less worry about overflows/leaks etc. its much more stressful when its your own property along with neighbors in the other townhouse units that could be damaged from any mishaps.
