Why do they say this? I have green trees like this and so do so many others that are the same. Are they not the same?

Without knowing the context (where does it say they're extinct?), a creature may be extinct in the wild while being kept in captivity.

Well, are those any different than these? I have 2 kinds. Nunofs, it says it on their site that they are nealry extinct out of captivity.
