It’s the end of my weekend reef tank matunaty leave I have most of my fish or at least enough to slow down an setup a qt med and live food plan for future princess Anithias and misc wrasses. I have a dozen sps testers. And I’m tweeking my carx kalkwasser dosing and ph. I have a way to go there but so far so good. Here’s som pics I know they suck but illl tackle that end of the hobby after I have the fish and coral thing down.

Try reef roids if you have it handy. I have seen some respond to the powdered food.

Thanks guys. I don’t have reef roids I’ll hunt some down. I’ve have been putting reef chills in my frozen cassoulet of shrimp, scollops, swordfish, eggs, bloodworms and celanus. I also add celanus and mysiss shrimp to the reef jerky in the plank.i wish I started a black worm culture before I picked them up. And yes the lights are in the surfboard I wanted to use drift wood. But this was lighter and easier.

The picture doesn’t show it well but I had a second ugly stage wich is localized on the new liferock branch I’ve been dosing live rock enhance and vibrant and it’s doing a great job but there is this patch of white nasty that’s a little scary

Also yorgos hooked me up with this stunning male mandarin the fat female I’ve had for a couple years chased him around last night trying to say hello, then this morning he was chasing her. I really hope they work it out.
finally my cabinet side doors are warping I used epvc laminated with wainscoting(seemed like good idea) perhaps I’ll fab new ones but seal them first.

Worse week I’ve had since starting this hobby. I’ve lost five fish this week, my gem tang, two anthias and both mandarins. The gem went from bloated to a bump in her side the anthias had a vertical mark in there side like a bruise that grew then dead. The mandarin were just dead wen I got home yesterday. Now one of my remaining anthias has the same mark. I calibrated my digital refractometer and found my salinity was 1.023 I’ve adjusted my mix tank so I can slowly raise it. I also dosed some vibrant acouple weeks ago but my coral and inverts seem fine. I’ve ordered seachem focus and anouter antibiotic food additive I can’t remember the name but it was also from seachem. To say I’m bummed is an understatement. I wonder also if since I dose kalkwasser kinda close to my auto feeder perhaps that’s part of the problem. All my numbers are good zero nitrate .02 phosphate so side from the low salinity I think my water quality’s ok. Im not sure what else to do.

Damn very sorry for the losses. Dosing kalk? Do you have a way to Control your ph? Have you checked your ph?

Ye it runs between 8.15 and 8.25. I could easily dose it into my overflow but that runs into my fuge. Not sure if that’s a problem

Sorry to hear that Joe. Do you have a picture? When you say you see a bruise and it killed the fish so fast, uronema is what comes to mind first.

I just looked up uronema on humble fish it sure looks like it. I’ll post pic’s this afternoon. Bad news for my system. I guess I just have to pump the breaks on adding more fish till I have a good fish conditioning system in place.

That sucks. Were you able to rescue any livestock? Did they die from the toxic smoke, or from the power being out?
