Is there any guidance for keeping different regions of Torch or Hammers in a system? For example, is it generally accepted that Indo torches will do well with their own but might suffer in the same tank with Aussie torches, and vice versa? Could the same hold true across species like Torches and Hammers not behaving well if they’re also from different regions? I had gotten away from torches and don’t want to mix and match if I’m limiting my chances for success.

I thought I read something like this, but it was years ago and I can’t find reference to it any more.

Not 100% positive on this but think I read something along the lines of what you're talking about about. Like don't keep christatas short tentacle with long tentacle etc

When concerning not mixing different regions of torch coral, it is mostly referring to wild and mariculture torch corals. They can carry different types of bacteria from different regions and it is possible that some torches can get infected. But in general, aquaculture torches should not have this problem. Either way don’t let them touch each other regardless.

Mariculture torches are known to carry really nasty bacteria and parasites, that is mostly due to how they are cultivated. You may want to dip them with iodine before introducing to your tanks.
