I'm going to be re doing the floor in and around my tank. Would it be to my advantage to put a drain in the floor near or under the tank?

I'm thinking a smallish drain that would go to a sink in my basement?

just in case?

Your thoughts?

For real, making a lip around the tank area and draining it sounds like a damn good idea.
Just in case ... :)

When i setup my 210 , i raised the stand with a 2x4 frame & plywood bottom took bottom out of stand. now i had a 7 inch base which i lined with rubber shower liner ,sealed corners then added a 3/4 inch drain the rubber lined base can hold 20 -30 gallons but with drain installed i don't have to worry

Excellent idea....how big of a drain would I need in case the 650g tank starts leaking....?
I think I will put a drain in, behind the tank, that way I can drain SW if needed out of the tank, or dump "junk" water
