There growing pretty rapidly. I just tried to scrape some off a rock to reattach somewhere else but it didn’t go well. Is there a trick to it?

Depending on the rock you'll have to try to break the rock under them to create peices. Getting them to release their footing, and then glue is tough due to their size obviously. Sometimes they come up like carpet, but that can be some tedious effort for foot release.

Zoas, It is always recommended to wear proper eye protection when cutting corals. Zoas contain a toxin called Palytoxin which has also been known to damage the eyes of aquarists who attempt to propagate the coral by cutting it and being squirted in the eye. Temporary blindness and permanent blindness have been reported.
