Moving Sand - advice needed

We have (finally) moved the inhabitants of our 14g biocube to a 30g. All that's left in the 14g is the live sand. We have a 20 long as a sump which all ready contains live sand (plus some live rock). Is it OK to scoop out the LS from the 14g and add it to the sump? Will this cause a problem with the sandbed all ready established in the sump? If we put it in there, should we try to mix it together?

I don't want to cause a high nitrate spike or anything over 10 lbs of live sand...

If you had the 14 running for any length of time, I'd rinse it really good before you added it to a new system. Sand beds can release all kinds of nasties when they are diusturbed.

yeah, rinse it in batches with fresh water and then add it a little at a time. You may also want to add some carbon for filtering.
