Temp spike = BTA splitting?

Just thought I'd share.

I've had two BTA's for the past two years (21 and 24 months). I've never seen a split before. Three weeks ago I had a 24 hour temp spike where the tanks got at least 5-7 degrees hotter than usual. Since then both BTA's have split, one 11 days ago, one today. The anemones are in seperate systems, but it all used to be one system until this summer. One system (sps) got about a million gallons of water changes after I seperated the tanks, the other tank (mixed softies) got no water changes. One BTA is a Rose, one is green.

I have read that BTA splitting is often precipitated by stress so I suspect it's possible that the temp spike may have had some part in inducing the splitting. It could also be some other factor I'm not aware of.

Just wanted to share,
anybody have any thoughts?

I've heard that too - stress induces anemone splitting.

Congrats on the double split! A rose huh? Now that's fine news.

i have had BTA's Split from various stress.
Salinity chages (soaked in freshwater to remove from rock. then had 2)
Lighting change
flow
temp.
i have even stabbed them with a screwdriver and had them split (rock spplitting gone bad)

i really think BTA's Could grow in a toilet if there was a touch of salt and some food.
