Think my corals will be ok? (extra light)

~Flighty~

Now with more baby
So I finally am getting the 425 sump online with my system and am noticing that there is a huge change in the clarity of the water. I had not been running any mechanical filtration or carbon and I guess the water had gotten pretty dull without me noticing. With this new 400 gallons in the system it is like a massive water change and I can tell a big difference in the ammount of light on the corals  . Am I in for trouble with this or do you think everything will be fine? I guess I could put a screen over the tank or move the lights higher for a few days if I need to.

I would do something just to be safe and avoid putting yourself in a recovery situation. The old 'better be safe than sorry' thing...

Bounce the lights up just to be safe.

That being said, why you letting your tank get so grungy Cindy? :p

I had no idea the water was grungy, I actually thought it was past time to replace the bulbs [smilie=4,21,2]. Now everything is back to crisp blue/white. I need to wear sunglasses from the glare.

Think reducing the light cycle would work the same as raising the lights?
