I am doing the same. Elimi np and phos e. If my nutrients were in line with what I wanted and the tank looked good, not sure I would use the carbon dosing balance and risk messing with the stability.

Bare bottom. Put black abs down to start it is now covered in coraline and corals. Maintenance is 100 times easier. I get the appeal of sand, but I don't think I ever want to have to maintain it again.

+1 for kasa smart strips. I have a bunch of them I use hanna mainly because I hate trying to figure out colors and when they are changing..

I use aquarium note app. Have been for years. Track maintenence and set reminders are the two main things I use it for.

I used it before. Can't say it had any impact positive or negative. I used it in the hopes of increasing the biodiversity in a new tank. Can't definitely say it worked, but probably wouldn't spend money to buy again
