added new coral and 5 crabs died any help???

i have had my 5g nano running for about 5 months now. i added 2 snails 3blue leg crabs and 2 red leg crabs. i bought four coral frags yesterday and put them in the tank. 3 heads of duncans a flavia sunset monti and a pice of merulina. the corals are all doing well and the snails are still speeding around the glass but all of the crabs are dead. so i broke out the test kit and went to town. no ammonia no phosphate and my ph is 8.2. I'm not sure what happened. everything is still alive and showing no signs of stress. has this ever happened to anyone else? does anyone know what could have caused this to happen? thanks

Did you dip the corals? Any chance some dip got into the tank?

no dip. should have done it though.

the crabs have been in the tank for about two months now an have been crawling all over the place.

Maybe their food source depleted?

no they all died at the same time. I'm wondering if the corals released some type of toxin into the water. its just weird that the crabs perished and not the snails. i don't want to put more crabs in the tank just to have them die off.

Did you buy real live rock, or use dead rock to start?

it was "real reef rock". basically it was man made and cured pest free. i bought it from my lfs and it was in a big tank. no pest.
