Adjustable AC, in-line return pump?

My sump is in my basement so to much head/FT for a DC return. I have always used an Iwaki (non adjustable flow) and I am looking for options. My new sump (thanks Geoff) is huge so it could be a submersible pump.
Have not plumbed my system yet so only starting to brainstorm. Is there even an adjustable flow, in-line return option. I am not a fan of the pumps that can be submerged or run in-line. I would also prefer an in-line as there is already a bulkhead drilled in my sump.

Don't know of any adjustable AC pumps. You'd basically be running it full power(full electric bill) and throttle the flow by outlet control.
