Black Silicon

Any one know where to buy black silicon that is reef safe? This is to reseal a tank?

Call sea creatures and ask john if he has any. If you cant find anything local Bulk reef has tubes of black and clear for 9bucks.

You can get a better price on the appropriate silicone over at grainger. RTV103 is the black

RTV is aquarium safe? Is that the same RTV you get at the auto parts store that is black? Also, is there a local grainger or online only?

I just ordered the RTV103 last week to reseal the rim of my NC.

I found many threads from all different sites of people using it and saying its safe.

RTV ='s "room temperature vulcanizing" which is basically all silicone.

Momentive is a company that makes silicone. Their "RTV 100" series is a very strong industrial adhesive silicone. Hence when people talk about "RTV100, 103 or 108" they are referring to this specific Momentive brand silicone, but "RTV" by itself is basically meaningless as far as we are concerned.
