So I have been using BRS Soda Ash for my 2 part for a long time now. I recently got a new refill and noticed that the mixing instructions have been changed from 2 1/3 cups of soda ash per gallon of water to 1.5 cups of soda ash per gallon.

Has anyone else noticed the difference? Asking question on BRS website did not yield any response yet. So curious whether it is printing mistake or suddenly the potency of their ingredients have increased.

Soda ash is always 99% since it is mined directly at that purity. Looks like they changed it due to its consistency. That is why it’s always preferable to weigh it rather than measure.

I just looked at an old bag I had and it is definitely light soda ash so it looks like they are now using dense soda ash. 1 cup of the old soda ash weighed 170 grams. I happen to have some dense soda ash and one cup of that weighs 260 grams.
