Calcium Test Kit is Off

I just got a Seachem Reef Status Calcium Test from aquacave and it's off by 70 mg/L (the reference test comes out to 450 mg/L when it should be 520mg/L).

I will certainly deal with the question of whether to return the test kit at some point, but my question is whether this completely invalidates the test kit or whether I can just make the mathematical adjustment after each test (e.g., just add 70 mg/L each time I test).

I am going to call the manufacturer in the morning, but wanted to know people thoughts.

I actually have the very same test kit. I have been having a ton of issues getting a consistant reading from the test kit myself. I'm planning on replacing the test kit.. My test always reads on the low side. Even on the reference it's about 50 ml/L off..

Just got off the phone with someone from seachem and they are sending me new reagents for the test kit. She took the batch numbers from the reagents that I have and will check them for problems on her end.

Let's see how it works this time.
