Ranco seem to be the best, but I have 2 dead ones at home right now.

I set up an Aquacontroller II and love it. The only issue is I can't seem to find a heater that will last. Replaced 2 this week!

Ranco is still my "go to" and they are available at FW webb for about $69 FWIW

But I will agree they are not as bullet proof as they once were, Ive replaced a few lately (in the past that would be unheard of)

get an RKL level 1. 99 dollars, and it will control your heater, control a fan if you tank gets to hot, time your lights, and shut your lights off if they get too hot. I think it also monitors your PH.

You simply can't beat that... 99 dollars for all of that is better than any ranco heating controller IMO.

It also gives you the option of upgrading the system to control and monitor more things in the future if you wish.
