hey i have no corals as of yet but i want to get some soon. i would like to find some info on differnt types, before i deside on what i'm going to put in my tank. also would like to kow a little about fragging as well. so if any of you know any good websites could you please pass them along.
thanks

I'm sure there are some good websites, but I don't know them. I will recommend a book though. "Aquarium Corals" by Borneman is often at Borders/B&N type stores. It's a good general reference for identifying corals, and figuring out what they need and what they're compatible with. The sections on fragging aren't that extensive though.

Nobody else has any advice on coral and fragging references? I'd hate for paine to be relying entirely on the wisdom of this semi-newbie.

paine RC (http://reefcentral.com/) is one of the best resources you can have,IMO if you have no corals as of yet i wouldn't worry to much about propogation. "Aquarium Corals" by Borneman is a great book for anyone of any experience. This one is also great with ton's of article's on pretty much anything you could want, http://www.reefs.org/

ok thanks jango i'm on RC alot but have yet to check out reefs.org so i will look into that thanks for the info

paine43 - when I first started to look at corals and their requirements, I always looked at liveaquaria.com. You can at least get an initial assessment of whether they are easy to care for, how much light they need, etc.
