Hello Everybody

Happy to be a member of BRS. Located in NY. Current tank is a standard 180 mostly sps that just starting to hit its stride after a few self inflicted setbacks. Looking forward to taking advantage of all your advice when needed and helping out others where I can.

Thank you. It’s slowly coming back. Tried beating some red-wine colored turf algae with a 3 day blackout while dosing h2o2 and microbacter 7 and nearly lost all my sps about a year ago. Then a few months later I had a rose tip anemone move in my frag tank that was connected to sump of DT. It covered the bulkhead strainer on my drain overflowing the frag tank dropping the water in the sump of the DT allowing the top off to continuously feed fresh water into the system. That was a mess!!! Thankfully no fish losses and it was all in my basement. Let’s just say I had a few gallons of water to clean up from the floor unfortunately and a few more sps losses from salinity change. Lots of lessons learned in these two instances to say the least.

A couple of these fish have been in my systems since the beginning of 2007 when I set up my first 75 gallon reef.

Looking forward I just put a half payment down on a new custom tank from Crystal Dynamic Aquariums out of California. 225 gallon 60” x 36” x 24”. Build time will be approximately 2 - 3 months so hopefully will start setup late spring early summer.
