I need wiring help!

I put a light over the 55 I've set up and fired it up this morning. While moving some rock around in the tank, I brushed up against the metal housing of the light and got zapped pretty good. I shut everything down and tested each piece of equipment. It's definately the light.

I know NOTHING about wiring and want to know if someone in the area could help me fix this. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the light isn't grounded.

Check the green ground wire(green is ground the world around) in the hood for loose or broken connection also check to see if your plug has the ground prong and that your outlet is grounded.If you got a good jolt definatly invest in a GFI.

I found the problem folks. It's my return pump. I completed the curcuit when I brushed the light while my hand was in the tank.
