Ann. Marketplace Rules Reminder

Good Morning,
To all of our great Boston Reefers Society forum members. With all of the additional new membership. We would like to bring forward and remind everyone of our forums marketplace rules which all are expected to follow. These rules are listed at the top of our marketplace. These same rules also apply to our FB page with one more cavate. There shall be no direct sales posts on our page. If selling on our FB page a link form our forum here must be posted with a general description only. If this rule is not followed on FB page all non-conformant posts will be deleted. Please read the entire rules listed below as it is a bit lengthy but required to be followed.

• These forums are not meant to be a storefront. If we determine that you are using the forums as a storefront we will require that you upgrade to a Sponsor level membership. ( Email: [email protected] )

The Marketplace forums are a great place to buy, sell and trade reef livestock and gear. These rules & guidelines help assure that it stays that way!

First, the rules:

• You must be a BRS member in good standing in order to sell or trade items on the forum. Membership costs $20 per year and provides other benefits as well. Click here to join!
  
  
• All listings must include a price.
  
  
• These forums are not meant to be a storefront. If we determine that you are using the forums as a storefront we will require that you upgrade to a Sponsor level membership.
  
• You may have no more than 3 simultaneous For Sale posts
  
  
• The vast majority of transactions go off without a hitch but occasionally there are disputes. BRS will NOT help to resolve these disputes. Read more about this policy here.

Now the guidelines:

• Marketplace rules and clarifications:
  • You must be a BRS member to sell on the forum - this includes selling in response to a WTB post.
  • If you wish to sell an item in response to a WTB post, you must include the price or a link to your FS post. If you do not have an item to sell but making a general store recommendation, a price is not required
  • You may have no more than 3 simultaneous For Sale posts in the marketplace. FS posts that have been inactive for more than 3 months may be closed at the moderators’ discretion.
  • If you exceed the 3 post limit, you may be asked to consolidate your threads or delete items no longer for sale, or a moderator may go ahead and consolidate/close threads at their discretion.
  • The marketplace is for the sale of livestock or dry goods. Services may not currently be advertised on the forum (this includes both members and sponsors…subject to change).
• It really helps potential buyers if you include your location prominently in your post. Even better if you include it in the title of the post.
  
  
• Once you've sold an item, you should change the FS or WTT prefix on your post to Sold or Gone. If it was a Free item you can change the prefix to Gone. Here's a tutorial on how to do that.
