Monti Cap growth rate

I bought a couple of frags of monti cap; one orange and one purple. I know the answer to this question will vary depending on water params and lighting, but on average, how soon after adding frags would you say you noticed yours growing and starting to form the whirling?

I haven't had either of mine very long so I know it will take some time. I have noticed slight changes in their shapes compared to when I bought them.

They usually take a little while to grow and then after a month or so they grow faster. The whirling is very dependent on flow. Different flow patterns will make it grow very differently.

Usually for me it takes a month then they take off.

Ah ok, I have had both of mine for less than a month so I will check them more closely after a month has passed.

Oh, I didn't realize that flow would effect the growth pattern, interesting. Thanks.

Goes without saying, but make sure your calcium and alkalinity are up. Montis grow ridiculously fast when everything is right.
