pepermint shrimp with babies???

My biger pepermint shrimp seems to be carrying tiny ball like items under its tail. What could this be? eggs perhaps....? He has been a lot less agressive lately as well.

They will spawn frequently if you have two and it is possible to raise the babies if you are detected. There si a good book in the library about how to do it. Their reproduction is pretty interesting to look into. they are hermaphrodites so you can have two in a tank and both will get pregnant.

so will i know when he/her is done spawning? like will i see baby shrimps all over my tank, will my fish eat them? how long before they hatch?

I have 5 peppermints and I occasionally see one or two with eggs under their tail. They never survive in the tank though once they are hatched. They will be eaten by everything in the tank. I look at it as free live food for my tank!
