Prizm vs. Coralife super skimmer

I plan on buying a skimmer for my 55g. Any opinions on these skimmers? What is the difference between needle vs. venturi?

The Needlewheel is basically a pump that sucks in air, and then chops it up. The Venturi is basically where a pump pushes water through a narrow opening, and that sucks in air.


Needlwheels are generally better, and more effiicent. IMO, the Coralife is a MUCH better skimmer than the Prizm.

I have a coralife. It does a good job, and is easy to operate. You may want to check out some of the Coralife mods on reefcentral.com. They have a huge thread for just Coralife mods.
