Replacing fans in T5 lights?

Got a used 24" 4-bulb T5 fixture about a month ago and 1 or both of the fans on it sound like they are ready to die (one may already be dead and the other cycles off an on every few seconds). I think this is a coralife fixture that you can pick up at petco. Has anyone replaced the fans in these types of fixtures before that could point me in the right direction? I'm not really electrically inclined, but think I could figure out how to replace the fans if possible! Thanks!

You should be able to order direct replacements for an excessive mark up.

Otherwise, the sizes are usually standard so you just need to get the size, and determine if they are AC or DC fans. If AC the fans will be wired directly to the light wires, if DC there will be a powersupply for the fans.

www.acousticPC.com has all sorts of fans and great prices. I'd use silnex or Noctua fans.

Also googling corallife replacement fans will get plenty of hits like this one;

yea I ended up replacing the fans in mine with pc cpu fans. took a little "adjusting" but they actually moved way more air

I replaced fans in my Nova Extreme T-5 fixture. Just need to know if they are the usual 3" fan or something different. Once you open it up it's pretty easy. With that said, I have never
been happy with my replacement fan...not as quiet as the original.
