I have been trying to get SWC to respond to an order placed on 4-21-12. In a nutshell, the skimmer pump for my extreme cone skimmer has failed. It is an askoll/laguna 1500 with a custom volute on the front and a high output pinwheel.
Ordered it, waited a week, emailed, waited a few more days, emailed again. Called the shop (Canada) and left a message. Used their 'contact us' website link. They wanted $35.00 for ground shipping
, which I agreed (grudgingly) to pay.
Just so you all understand, I'm BUYING a new pump. No warranty, no complaint, just 'give me the damn pump so I have a skimmer that works'.
No answers....for WEEKS. This is very frustrating, and I'd like to share that experience with my fellow reefers. In the meantime, no skimmer.
Before you spend over $1000.00 on a skimmer, make sure parts for it will be available.....
