Sea urchin closed is this a problem?

I've never seen my pincushion sea urchin closed before should I be concerned?

Did lose it’s spines?

Yes it did lose spines. You can see a couple in the lower right corner of the pic. And as I look in the tank there are more behind a rock. Alas poor Yorick I knew him. Thank you guys.

When they lose spines it’s a bad sign. Either water quality is very poor( which I sought in a reef tank) or its just not getting enough food and starving

You posted about it releasing white stuff the other day right? I guess it was letting out its seed on its way out :/
