side sump

well my sump and refugium are on the side of my tank, but still below tank level.

As long as the sump is a couple inches below the display it shouldn't work much differently.

just wondering. my stand is too narrow for a standard tank so i was thinking about setting up my sump next to the tank and just building a cabinet too hide everything.
