i have a 55g salt water tank set up for a week with 60lbs live sand and about 20 pounds live rock. I recently bought 10pounds base dry rock. I am seeing a break of diatoms (im pretty sure). I do have one clown fish in there helping out the cycling process and he's doing great. my sand and salt water were in there for a week before the live rock.

now trying to add dry dead rock to the tank. what should I do? i rinsed it and boiled it for 30 mins. should i cure it in freshwater and watch parameters or will it be ok to add to tank? I have not had any spike in ammonia nitirtes nor nitrates. waiting!!!

2 heaters
2powerheads on each side one pointing up towards surface and one towards sand

no sump no overflow no skimmer(yet) no filter (yet)

You've only been set up for two weeks, I would just add it to what is already in there. Wouldn't add any more livestock either until the cycle is over.

I'd just toss them in there after a rinse as mentioned above and focus on getting a skimmer, that'll be a big help!
