10g sump maintenance

Ive had my 10g sump running now for a couple days and already there is alot of ditrius in the bottom. Ive been searching online for maintenance steps but found nothing. Any suggestions?

I find if i dont run filter socks for a bit i get the same build up in the sump areas. you could vac it out at water change time also.

put a cleaner crew in there. 5-8 snails and one brittle star. Or add a pump to keep the water moving.

Copepods also doa great job, I ahve some giant ones in my sump. They are so big, that one copepod can grab an entire fish pellet and move it (the round pellets). HAHAAHA
