2007 list of LFS's

It's about that time again to do the poll of members regarding their favorite local stores. The poll will be performed on-line, but will only be for BRS members. More details will follow for this.

The list below is last year's list of any shops within a 2 hour driving distance away from Boston as measured by Mapquest. We are adherring strictly to this rule again this year.

I'm sure I've missed a few, and some have probably gone out of business...please help me make the list more complete before we perform the survey.

This thread is about updating this list. Any chatter about how good/bad this shop or that is will be removed, save it for the poll.

Fintastic Fish is also closed...Still lots of dry goods and unopened tanks in there (even a nice 40 breeder ), but he closed up shop awhile ago.

Boston Fish & Reptile in Cambridge doesn't exist anymore. You missed Petco in Cambridge and Waltham (and probably lots of others). Also, Petsmart doesn't carry SW fish, but does carry SW supplies and they'll match their website on pricing, which makes supplies reasonable.

I thought after he sold most of his existing inventory he changed his mind and will re-open later this year, after the store is refurbished?

I was at Fintastic Fish last week. He is reorganizing and setting up new tanks. He showed me what his new setup was going to be and it looked like it was going to be pretty good.

Duds, where in Franklin is The Fishery? I didn't know there was another LFS that close to here.

You missed Petco in Cambridge and Waltham (and probably lots of others).

But those Petco's don't really sell reef or saltwater fish stuff. All they have is like a single side of a 12 foot display of food and salt.

It's right over the new bridge on the 140 just before where the old miniature golf place used to be (Crystal falls). There is a sign out on the road.

Petco in Hanover and Plymouth both have saltwater sections and sell Saltwater Fish, LR and soft corals and clams.

As does Petco in Woburn off exit 37. Very small selection though but they do have a few saltwater fish.
