Expensive Phytoplankton

Last weekend while sterilizing water for my Phyto culture, I cooked our over the range hood/microwave. I was cooking 4 cups of water at a time for 4 mins. I was just starting my 3rd gallon. I had done more then this at a time in the past. Needless to say my wife was not happy. Had to spend $550 on new one and most of the day yesterday installing it. I'm guessing it would have died soon, almost 10 years old, so I told my wife it was a good thing it happened to me, not when she was tiring to use it, lol.
Now looking for a cheap one to just use for that purpose.

Instead of using microwave, you can use a pot with Teflon lining to boil the water.

Also boiling isn’t necessary. Sterilization occurs at 161F after 10 seconds. But you probably already knew that.
