Winter is really the worst time to finish a hardwood flooring. Without the windows open to let the vapors escape it’s really tough to even be in the house 3 days later.

Geoff so sorry man! That is tough. Sorry for the losses that always. sucks to lose fish

Room is ready for tank to be moved in. New gfci on 20a breaker too.

Went with trigger systems cr44 sump. Going to use a herbie drain system in the existing overflow of the tank, with over the back returns. With careful planning of the drain height and return siphon, this sump should accommodate the water when the pumps are off.

Does anyone know where the best place to buy the 1” gate valve is? I think they are like $80 each on amazon for the spears brand, but i remember there being an alternate brand that wasn’t as expensive. Wondering if they still make those and if anyone else has any input on them?

Now i gotta find some help moving this tank from the garage to the living room. Luckily its not a challenging move, just need the man power lol

Looking forward to getting the aquascape and plumbing done soon!!

New sump came.Loved my last trigger sump so it made sense to buy another lol. Discount price from trigger systems website $390 including shipping.
Next week hopefully the tank will be moved into its final spot in my living room and i can start putting it all together! Excited to build a nice aquascape next! Will be doing the BRS NSA habitat scape. Still debating on bare bottom or sand….

I look at sandbed decisions like this. You either let the sandbed define the fish you can have or vice versa. I love wrasses so gotta have sand imo. If you’re going BB, have good sock filtration to catch all the detritus.

Looking back on my build, aqua scaping is so exciting but it can be a big pain. Spend the time, and money, to do it right

Aquascape is my favorite part. Me snd my friend @scabbedwings616 used to break down or tanks just to re scape every so often. Before glue and epoxy was a big thing we used fiberglass rods and stacked the rocks that way. If i do a sand bed its gonna determine how my scape will look! I font want a sand bed that is impossible to clean so i gotta have a hard think about it lol

I remember those days, cutting down driveway markers form HD or Lowes. @marco67 used to offer acrylic rods back in the day just for this reason.

Been thinking a bit and might put the 265 where that red sea is. Still not sure. Waiting on a mason to quote us on a chimney repair in the green room so we can put a wood stove in there. (Not like the Jotul gas you see in the pic) obviously we dont want to put the tank that close to the wood stove so the entry room might be a better solution. If the chimney repair is too much money, the tank woll ho in yhe green room and we will explore other options for a wood stove.
